The Songwriting Studies Research Network is a two-year AHRC-funded project which unites scholars, industry workers and practitioners in a forum for the exchange of ideas about songwriting. It is led by Dr Simon Barber of Birmingham City University and Dr Mike Jones of University of Liverpool, UK.

The second event in our series will focus on the business of songwriting, exploring how streaming technologies have reshaped the ways in which songwriters sustain their careers.
Highlights of the day include:
- Papers and roundtable discussions at The Ivors Academy featuring professional practitioners, industry experts and leading academics.
- Nile Rodgers and Merck Mercuriadis will share their songwriting and publishing expertise at the Southbank’s Meltdown festival.
